Pippin’s Plight

I used to be the baby
Mommy told me so.
But when the new baby comes
I always have to go.

They put me into Michael’s room,
Throw a bone down on the floor.
I don’t like it one bit
So I beat upon the door.

I think I would like the baby
If they’d only let me play.
But they don’t seem to trust me
So I have to stay away.

I am somewhat jealous
This I will admit.
If they’d let me have the baby
I’d stop throwing all my fits.

I need time to adjust
To a new baby hanging ‘round.
I don’t like to be quiet but
I’m not supposed to make a sound.

I have a solution.
Please let us learn to play.
We could be big buddies
If you’d only let me stay!
